I mean, it is a J, but - in emails - if you see the capital letter J off by itself in or especially at the end.
It’s this: :)
It’s someone smiling at what you said (you clever dog) or what they said to you with a punctuation smiley-face thingie.
Some email programs try to fix that into the letter J.
To make sure your smiley faces aren’t lost on folks who don’t read The Daily Blur (you know, the people of good taste), why not try:
: ) - see the spacebar between
or =) - that one’s kind of whimsical, don’t you think.
